Progress update:





Attached the hinge today. Just need to get the forearm piece bolted together and then get it attached to the hinge. After that, gotta finish welding the shoulder piece and airbrush it. Gotta get some straps to hold it all on too, hopefully I can get some leather for cheap, otherwise I'm gonna have to rig it somehow e_e

Welp, cleared another hurdle in my battle armor, the HINGE. Hinge is completed, the armor sleeve actually functions now:





Need to put in some strapping so it'll hold in place, but it's really coming together now.

@ Ayumi - That's an armor sleeve made out of found materials (trowels, saws, shears, etc.). I'm also going to be making a gundam-esque shoulder plate out of sheet metal and plastic.

It kinda reminded me of torture rape equipment.. not that I know what that looks like.

Isn't it going to be rather heavy to wear?

I mean it's fairly heavy, but nothing too ridiculous. Probably no more than like 20-30 pounds, I haven't weighed it though. The forearm part (the rounded side) is aluminum though, so that cuts down on a lot of weight.

Mixed media like a boss. I'm using plywood, steel sheet metal, a machete, steel pencil rod, pipe (steel, iron, or pvc, still undecided), cast plastic, rubber, ceramic, and much more. I don't want to put too much info out there right now though, so I'll leave it at that.
