Art/Graphic Resources and Tutorials + Image Copyrights
This thread is basically to set back the number of sticky topics we have here in the Graphics and Fanart section. So I'm going to post links to tutorials and base images, etc., that we have posted in this section.

COPYRIGHT NOTICE: Before you post any images, please ensure you have the proper copyright for posting it. If it's your work, naturally you have the copyright. If it's work done by another then you must ensure you ask their permission before posting (unless it's public domain media). cannot reasonably verify the copyright on every image posted on this site. We will, however, comply with any copyright violation notices that can be reasonably verified. So, if your images disappear and you don't know why, this is probably what happened.

MMOG Tutorial and Resource Thread!

Hello people ~
So... um, you can call me Haiko.
I was looking around here, the art section, and I noticed there are few tutorials or resources for the MMOGers to look at, and I think Glarbage's thread is kind of outdated. I dunno if he has much free time, but I do... so I thought of making a thread that'd have all that! :py01:

If you have any tutorials (if they aren't yours, please credit the owner), want to share your knowledge, want to learn, or just want to get some new stuff, here you go. :py41:

Just post one tutorial per post and I'll organize them all up here, in the first post. If you wish to contribute, just go ahead and start the MADNESS... I mean... er... ah, whatever.

So, well, since I'm just starting the thread, I'll put the stuff I know. If you with to contribute, please feel free to post it too and I'll be glad to add it here! :3

Ignore the noobs part, it's just Dani fdksjhf
Anyway, she asked me to post here that she can help people with renders, if they find an image that isn't rendered (i.e. black background, forest, etc.), just PM her or talk to her on IRC.

DaFont - That's pretty much what you'll need. orz
Blambot - comic fonts [Thank you, Dani!]

• Wat, fonts?// how2install

To install fonts, just extract the .rar file, get the font file, copy it and paste it on WINDOWS > Fonts. There, it's installed.

This might becomes handy for the members here.

Haiko 09-08-2008 05:36 PM

Thanks, Miyu! I hope it really comes handy for more people q_q'

Ascherit 09-08-2008 05:37 PM

Sorry to burst your bubble. @__@;;

Haiko 09-08-2008 05:40 PM

Yeah, I just saw that. ><' (I never notice sticky threads, lol, bad thing.)
Then I edited the first post. I dunno if Glarbage has free time, but I do, and such, I dunno. Maybe we just keep that other thread. :v

Edit: And I think one thread for all tutorials is kind of more organized... so the section won't have a load of pages and other threads dying because of it...
Also, people can ask questions and solve problems with tutorials here, maybe? x-x
It's just my opinion, though.

Miyuki 09-08-2008 05:45 PM

Thread merged and renamed, so people will get noticed about this thread.

Dani 09-08-2008 06:12 PM

haiko you noob you forgot to link to my renders so people actually know if I'm good at rendering or not. D:

If you want to ask me to render something yet are unsure if i'm any good or not at rendering then here are two renders ( my 3rd and 4th renders ever to tell the truth 8D *shot* ) of mine. One was done today, the other one like... one or two days ago, lol.

Cierra the Scarlet Witch render and here's the original

some random girl render and here's the original

Kenjii 09-08-2008 06:44 PM

I highly don't recommend getting stocks or any renders from deviantart. Most of the artists there will disagree with any of their pictures being used without their permission.

It's a RIP if the artist disagrees, but you use it anyways.

Haiko 09-09-2008 04:43 PM

Mhmm, you're right. I think I'll remove it for now, maybe add later.
Thanks for the feedback, I'll add one more tutorial later.

I love your tutorials; I've always wanted to know how to make those lines on userbars. Thanks! 8D

Haiko 09-19-2008 01:14 PM

Thanks, Shnao :3

I'm thinking what I should do for the next one.

And another thing...

Haiko, I'm going to move all the informative stuff you've posted up to the first post, for easier navigation. (Not deleting any posts, just putting all the info up top lol)

EDIT: It's all up top now, in spoiler tags because it's massive text lol
