starting a bigger painting of akiha... here's a progress shot. i really disagree with how the original concept artist gave her blue eyes... this is why i almost never draw fanart. orz

realized the colors were getting too muddy and then while fixing that problem, broke up the forms on the face. help

I think its the eyes. They're looking directly at you. Generally, people are uncomfortable if you stare directly at them. Maybe if the eyes were drawn looking in a different direction, the drawing would give off a different vibe.
