Went to an anime convention over the weekend and started collecting like all the cool people do. Bought a Sora no Woto Kureha figure and got Tsukuyomi-sensei out of a box. Was hoping to start out with Angel Beats! nendo set 2 though, but oh well.

Only have Gunplas. Figures are too damn expensive without the satisfaction of building them.

Yeah, same here. Mainly the latter, obv.
Only reason I would get set 1 is for Yusa and Shiina, simply because Yusa needs screentime and Shiina because she's just there.

What do you do with figures exactly? Play house or tonka trucks? Elaborate tea parties? vroom vroom ZAP pew pew bang etc?

I'm genuinely interested.

Collect for the pleasure of just collecting.
Unless you get gunpla or paint/build ones. Then it's collect for the pleasure of finishing.

This just reminded me of the funniest story about my friend and his figs. My friend collects a lot. He has over 50+ in his small room... by small, damn his room feels like the closet in my apartment. Basically one day I was talking to him on msn. His mom walks in, "You play with Dolls or something?" and walks out.

I intend to collect nendos.

So I can make an army of them. : 3

The idea of collecting figurines doesn't appeal to me since then I'd feel super nerdy and like a grown up kid.

Can't help but admire the craftsmanship though. I'd like to try making a figurine for lulz someday out of idk, resin. ;_; It'd be something new to try out at least... and hopefully not as stupidly messy as clay.

When I received my first Genuine Nendoroid I was very surprised at the craftsmanship. I finally understood why these aren't mass produced... drawing in tiny details does get tedious I suppose. The thing that's most surprising to me is the eyes. They literally look exactly the same as in the Anime/Manga/Drawings online.

OH My angel beats set was shipped. Will have pics when I go home for christmas! =3

I've always been curious about figurines.
I remember from a long time ago that I had a squirtle figurine and thought it was the best thing ever. However, it's been lost through several house movings.

I'd think I want one of Suika and Yukari, though!

Just got a MAX factory BRS figma from my friend for 1333 Yen because he accidentally bought doubles, lol.

Had my eyes on those recently. Was going to get them until my mom started *****ing over my grades.

Hooray, I don't get jackshit now and we just passed up a hell of a sale.
