I know. Bolin is cute and muscular-y-cubby-y, but Mako is hot.

I like Bolin a lot more than Mako. He's overall a more enjoyable character (happy/cheery, kind of a dork, caring). Mako is okay too but he isn't as awesome as Bolin in my eyes.

Bolin is more muscular as opposed to Mako who's more tall/lean.

korra may not have had the same type of training. i'm guessing there are bending schools/teachers out there teaching people lightning bending since mako had a job bending lightning.

latest episode was fantastic. i wonder if councilman tarrlok is in league with amon in some way. the sting operation that we saw didn't seem to be very fruitful and he lured beifong into taking responsibility for what happened at the match.

I think Tarrlok is just afraid to lose his own bending powers when Amon really comes around never really trusted him to be honest always assumed he was gonna turn out to be a double agent, a tool, or both. The fight sense in this episode was really amazing and those metal whips that lin had were

Need more fights like this one. Yet, it shows the power disparity between benders and chi blockers even more. The captain of the police and the avatar are only a bit better than your average chi blocker fodder? What does that say about every other bender then? It feels so plot sword-armory to see all the fodder benders get the floor wiped with them against chi blockers.

These guys have a very good point. Non-benders are always naturally at a disadvantage.

There is a severe inequality between benders and non-benders. Our fancy chi-blocking technique can only defend. If you're a non-bender, forget about becoming a sporting superstar because you can't enter pro bending. Forget about entering the police force cuz you can't bend metal. We have seen at different points in the series how these benders take advantage of their powers to commit crime against non-benders. In every physical way benders > non-benders.

Besides, what harm have the equalists done to the city? They took away the bending powers of the most notorious crook in the city. They took away the Wolfbat's bending, who cheated their way to victory. If I was a non-bender I'd be pro-equalist for sure.

Btw don't get me wrong I love the series, and I can't wait for all this to unravel.

Amon is just a radicalist. Some of the stuff he believes in is ok, but he and presumably his supporters have the mentality of ALL BENDERS ARE BAD, ALL BENDERS OPPRESS NON-BENDERS. I'm sure there exists non-bending sports, and there exists technology to lessen the gap between benders and non-benders. But yes, benders in general are better off than non-benders. Just like how geniuses are better off than non-geniuses. It'd be fine if Amon didn't have such a mentality, the council seems to be trying to cut down on bender-non-bender discrimination anyway.

On the strength of bending: It probably has something to do with less spirituality or something along those lines. I mean in the pilot, they did say Korra excelled at the physical side only of bending. And if you look at pro-bending, that's largely physical side of bending (and you don't even have to be a top notch bender for that).

I guess Korra will be a series on the pursuit of regaining spirituality in bending. Spirituality was pretty key in air bending too (more so than the other forms) so I guess it goes hand in hand with Korra's "iderno how2 airbend".

On the First Book,the bending wasn't so STRONG and most people are not master or so.
I don't like Pro-Bending since its just.. "little" elemets shots so.. simple.But I love Kotta serie..

I just think,Korra Mako.. Bolin and such going travel world.. asking for help on nations or something like that.I think they will visit the other sons of Aang and well.

This war going to be great but westill need see..whats next;

there is of course an inequality. the benders simply have an advantage when getting jobs because of their abilities (see benders powering generators). that is not to say that non-benders can't be extremely successful, future industries is owned by non-benders and look how well they're doing.

amon appeals to the non-bending poor, which is similar to typical behavior of revolutionary dictators. the message will seem great to them but his end goals are not equality. taking away bending from dissenting benders and controlling other benders with fear will allow him to maintain a dictatorship with much more ease than having benders who can, without any material weapons, fight against him.

You're right about his dictator-like trait. I guess he convinced me! I did write that post after talking to a friend about being a non-bender in Republic city though. Hmm, what does Amon really want? What is up with that Tarrlok guy? I'm too impatient haha

In any case... Amon will win and gain the support of the dissident non-benders temporarily, which drives the point about the bender-non-bender inequality to Korra and hence prompts her to realise this disparity and through her new found maturity and the power of the Avatar (equipped with air-bending!) she defeats Amon and becomes the hero that brings equality to all mankind...... right? :P

And where's my lovely non-bender character in this series? Maybe a person who was once a pro-equalist and then realised Amon's evil true intent and joined forces with Korra to bring true peace for all mankind????
