First ep was pretty decent; they didn't overwhelm you with detail like they do in the first episode of many other fantasy series. They also kept the humor going throughout.

Seeing how the story is, I couldn't help but be reminded of Little Busters knowing...

Just read the original novel, you will get the ending pretty quickly :P
