Hiya everyone.
As part of a deal with my boyfriend, i gotta take up one of his hobbies, so i chose gundam models XD. But the problem is I know absolutely nothing about this topic.

So i was wondering if anybody could give me some advice on sizes and grades, but also like building them. And also this can be a thread to just discuss them.

He's got me a 1/144 (No idea what this means XD) StarGazer, once i've built it ill show you what it came out like.

Also i had no idea where to put this, so i think this was a good place, if not just move it XD

Lol, hand connects to forearm which connects to elbow then to upper arm and then you reach your abdomen and the place where the upper arm and abdomen meet, you place a shoulder guard 8D

Lol, instruction manual isn't too hard to follow, you should be alright.

The more high-end it sounds, (master grade, perfect grade, whatever, too lazy to wiki it....) the more detailed it is and the more harder it'll be to put together D=.... 1/144 is the scale, the model is 1/144 of the size of how it would actually be if it was real.

just have the right equipment/knives/blades to build it.

Gunplas (Gundam models) are generally classified into a few difficulties, and the most notable ones are HG, MG and PG, in terms of increasing difficulty.

1/xxx refers to the size of the model compared to the "actual" Gundam, so a 1/144 means that it is that the model:real size ratio is 1:144.

From the looks of the size, it should be a HG grade, which should be relatively simple, even for beginners. Just follow the diagrams, use some simple cutting tools (even nail clippers will do if you are not too "professional") and you'll do fine. Just be careful, especially with their "V fins" or those things on a Gundam's forehead. They are usually the easiest part to break.

though??? u can just read the manuals..pictures on how building it is already there also......

The only thing i find annoying about building gundams is after you spend an hour putting and making one arm/leg perfect you find out there's another one to go!

I bought a Wing Gundam (the Endless Waltz one) years ago, I think it was 1/144. My brother messed it up completely by doing stuff life attaching the thigh pieces the wrong way. If I had enough spare money, I would love to get a Perfect Grade Strike Freedom (if they exist). :x

EDIT: Okay, I checked on Google, and there's no Perfect Grade Strike Freedom. I don't care, because the Master Grade Strike Freedom looks great!

I always like Star Gazer, i've got the 1/144 one but i wish there was a perfect grade one.
Also my friend is bringing me back a Lancelot from code geass model lol.
