AMV Maker's Thread

Hi. I know some people here probably make AMVs so I just wanted to see some of you guys creations and we can give tips and pointers.

Constructive crit is very welcome but please don't flame or call anyone stupid. Especially if they just getting started making AMVs they need all the pointers from those who have more expereience.

So what program you all use? I want Sony Vegas but never took tmie to find a free one. My friend found one though. So far I use WMM and i hate it! haha.


ok so i'll go first with posting a vid. i'm not too great but i getting better. this is my latest vid:

Fandom: Prince of Tennis
Song: Twisted Transistor by korn
Characters: Shuusuke Fuji, Hajime Mizuki, Yuuta Fuji
Genre: Action... probably drama if you know the story

one thing id have to say atm, is get a raw version, people tend to not like AMV's with subs, i guess it gets in the way.

yeah i know what you mean. but i'm one of a few people who are immune to subs... meaning i never read the subs in the amv. in fact it's like they dno't exist. but you're right I should take that into consideration for viewers who find them hard to ignore

That's why .mkv>.avi files.

Everything on a .mkv is seperated, audio, video, subs and other stuff.

In mkv files, you can separate the streams,
you can extract data from mkv by use of mkv extractor plugin
also works with soft-subbed files

usually avi files, are hardsubbed where you cant hide / change the font display
in some cases you get extremely large font displays in lower resolutions

I havent really started on making AMVs but Im interested in merely subtitling clips
I hope to find some tips / tricks in making those as well ^__^

yeah i've wathed vids like that but never actually did em.

but uhm as for mkv i do have some mkv files but i just didn't wanna do a hayate no gotoku amv is WMM compatible with mkv anyway? cos i use a diff program to watch em

Remux out the subtitles (make a backup?? PRZ) and just convert the movie file into .avi. o_ O
