I don't think he'll spend any time on their side stories. That's what the cover pages for each chapter have been about.

Well I was thinking that Zoro might get an upgrade since I thought he lost two of his swords at some point?

Well... the first time Zoro loses two of his swords was when he was fighting Mihawk. But then he got two swords at Loguetown. One was that cursed one and the other was the one he got for free from the sword shop guy. The free one was later destroyed during the Enies Lobby arc. But he replaced that one with a sword he got from... I can't remember his name, but it was the zombie that had Brook's shadow on Thriller Bark. He hasn't lost a sword since then, I believe.

Well, he's definitely hurt and I would think that'd be life-threatening. He COULD die. But he seems like the type that's really hard to kill, so he could act like it was just a scratch and go on fighting anyway.

I'm thinking that white beard will survive until Ace is saved. Then he'll over exhaust himself and die; making way for Luffy to become the pirate king and perhaps even lead into Dragon vs. World Government. And somehow Shanks is going to get involved in between.

Viz Media has published the 22nd volume of the original manga in North America this month, and it is running the latest chapters from Japan in the English Shonen Jump magazine this fall. Funimation has been releasing the television anime version and the eighth film, One Piece: The Desert Princess and The Pirates: Adventure in Alabasta.
