Agreed, beside using it to search for enemy, I only use auto-lock when shooting enemy that's not moving, hitting my teammate or vice versa. It really suck to auto-lock someone who's moving, the cursor would really have problem to keep up with the target.
Also another con of auto-lock is that "sometime" you're trying to hit Target-A, and you tried to adjust by pressing auto-lock a bit, and somehow it locks on Target-B instead...Orz
