I always use spreadsheets to manage my quest items and I'm sure other players would enjoy that too. For those of you who enjoy them but too lazy to make them, here are the ones I made. As I make more, I'll put them here.
The format I use is pretty self explanatory, perhaps even more so if you are experienced with excel. If you don't get it, skim my tutorial below.

the usefulness of the spreadsheets and manipulate the data, you have two options:
#1) Export the spreadsheets onto your computer. (File > Export > .xls)
#2) Log onto Google Docs
with your gmail account
. Open my spreadsheets and create a copy (File > Create a copy...). And that's it. Most convenient.
Using the spreadsheets:
First, input the amount of characters you have by replacing the 1
(Default) at the top with the amount of characters you are farming for. If you are only farming for 1 character, leave this value alone.
column displays the amount of the item you are required to complete the quest. Input the amount of the items you have currently in the Currently
column. That amount will be deducted from the Remaining
column and it will display the amount you have left to complete. Furthermore, the %
column will display the percentage of your progress.
column lists the item names and the Description
column shows you where you can find that item (the info may not be complete but it should be close).
