In a simplistic approach, it made tabs browsing awesome and is more safe than IE security-wise. Sure, IE is easy to use, but that is probably the only positive feedback I got for it...
What I really like about Firefox is the ability to add new themes (e.g. Japan Black :3), the add-ons/extensions, tab browsing, the extra security, and the bookmark toolbar.
For example, I have the Delicious add-on (mostly for school purposes), AdBlock Plus (no more annoying pop ups), and NoScript (ability to set what domains I trust). For themes, I prefer my browser to look sleek and black, but there are a bunch of other themes available, including a Mac-style browser.
Really, once you settle into Firefox, it's all good from there...
