Because the US dollar is low. In 2004, $1 CDN was worth $0.66 USD. As of today, it's 1 to 1. But it's still considered to be worth less. Why? It's colored like Monopoly money, and the Canadian $5 bill has kids playing hockey on it. That's right. Kids. Playing hockey. And a snow sled. No tanks, airplanes, or guns. Kids playing hockey. If people weren't so scared of the aboriginal boatman of the river Styx ferrying demons from hell on the back of the $20 bill, Canada would have been invaded by now.
