So, the issue he's having, well, two of them.

1. If he talks for longer than a few seconds, the volume on his mic rapidly decreases to zero, and then resets when he stops and tries to talk again.
2. In a Skype call, I hear a really loud noise like a fan that starts off from (on a scale of 1 to 10) a 2, then scales up to a 9 over about ten seconds, then stops. Does this every 1-2 minutes for about... 7-8 minutes, then doesn't do it anymore.

Anyone know what could be causing this?

He's using a Samsung laptop, Windows 7, and has a Razor Carcharias headset, if that helps. Thanks! ^^
