AP system works by letting you use up to 5 skills (with the a,s,d,f,g keys) these skills use up AP instead of MP. AP characters tend to have insanely strong skills; though one of the main drawbacks of an AP character is that when being "countered" not only do you lose AP but it disables your skills for a few seconds.
