Barry turned his attention to the officers waiting for their order. He let out a small and sheepish "oh" before getting their coffee. Barry apologized to them as they leave the cafe with their order.
This happened too frequently. Every time Eric is in Barry's presence, Barry becomes so careless and hung on to Eric's every word. It has gotten ridiculous. Barry told himself to smack his head against the wall later tonight.
"Um, uh...well, there was this weird guy," Barry stumbled on his words as he continued. "Ordered some pastries, then acted like he didn't. But he gave us tips though, I guess it wasn't too bad."
As Barry went on, he realized more and more that this--the story about the odd man--is a terrible story to tell, let alone it be any interesting at all.
"Your mother will be here later today anyway," said Barry. "Her order for the vanilla arrived earlier this morning. I'm sure she'll want to try her new recipes and stuff."
